Community
actively supporting our community
At Weber Credit Union, we know how important it is to help strengthen our community. That's why we participate in and facilitate community events. Here are some examples:
donations and sponsorships
Weber Credit Union is committed to actively supporting the community and schools in which our members live and work. We will provide resources to charitable, educational, and civic outreach efforts that parallel our mission of social outreach, financial education and building better communities. warm the soles
Each year Weber Credit Union participates in Warm the Soles, a program facilitated by the Utah League of Credit Unions. We invite our members to donate to Warm the Soles, which buys shoes for local children in need during the cold months of the year. Other credit unions statewide also participate in this program. Each year, about 5,700 pairs of shoes are delivered. Since its inception, about $1.2 million dollars have been raised to donate 40,000 pairs of shoes statewide.
100% for kids
In 2002, Utah's credit unions formed 100% for Kids - Utah Credit Union Education Foundation. The foundation's mission is to improve education in Utah by enhancing and expanding classroom-level resources and programs. Weber Credit Union and its members help out by donating funds to 100% for Kids and helping deliver the grants to teachers at local schools. school involvement
Weber Credit Union's was founded by a small group of Weber School District teachers in 1956. We are still committed to serving the employees and schools in Weber School District. Each year we actively participate in events and make donations to local schools. This includes Country View Elementary School's Annual School Carnival, Roosevelt Elementary School's Deposit Day, where we collect the students' money they're saving each week, and tutoring at Green Acres Elementary School. We also make donations to other schools and have a Financial Education presentation available to Jr. High and High School classes.
christmas tree jubilee
The Christmas Tree Jubilee began in 1979 as a way to help children with special needs at Canyon View School. The event has since grown to an annual community event facilitated by the Weber School District Foundation to raise funds to donate to purchase specialized equipment for children with special needs. The event features over a hundred beautifully decorated trees available to purchase during a silent auction along with Christmas crafts for sale. Last year, Weber Credit Union, along with other local credit unions, was a title sponsor for the event.
